Is it safe?  The government says so and so do we.  There's a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard that requires these vehicles be equipped not only to be street legal (in Arizona, that means headlights, tail lights, brake lights, rearview mirror, windshield and horn), but also in compliance with FMVSS #500, which adds even more safety equipment.  Side Mirrors, Turn Signals, Reflectors, Seat Belts, 17 digit Federal VIN and more.

Are they more expensive?  Yes, But.  Yes, they cost more, although not a whole lot more, considering how much the extra speed and accessorries add to your driving experience.. Federal law created the NEV class of vehicle in 1998. Golf Cars of Arizona, an Arizona manufacturer as well as a retailer in the state, completed the Federal process to produce these vehicles in 1999. To date, we have sold over 3000! Golf Cars of Arizona is also certified by the Internal Revenue Service to offer this vehicle as eligible for a tax credit.
